What could this hint? A possible betrayal of Penelope?

What could this mean? Is Penelope secretly working for the Collector? If so did Bentley have to find out the hard way that his sweetheart is evil? Or worse... What if she helped the Collector build the La Paradox in the first place, explaining her sudden disappearence?!?!
