Scary John
Scary John (also called Scary-John-the-Janitor) was the janitor at the Happy Camper Orphanage during the time Sly Cooper, Bentley and Murray resided there. Though not much is known about his past, cleaning Mrs. Puffin's office was a part of his duties.
When Sly and his friends were carrying out their very first heist (the Cookie Stealing Plan), John was on his way to clean Mrs. Puffin's office and was completely unaware of Sly's presence. Before Sly could reach Mrs. Puffin's cookie jar, Bentley warned him that there was no time left, for he and Murray feared that Sly would be busted.
Sly had finally reached the cookie jar when he heard someone in the hallway, thinking it was Bentley and Murray. After they told him that they were outside the whole time, Sly realized that it was John. He stuffed some cookies in his hat for the quick getaway, and once he escaped, John opened the office door to begin cleaning. Due to Sly's quick escape, John did not catch him and had no idea cookies were stolen.

- ↑ John never makes a physical appearance in any Sly Cooper media but is mentioned in The Adventures of Sly Cooper (issue 1) and To Catch a Thief, which are the only pieces of Sly Cooper media to show in-depth flashbacks to the Cooper Gang's first heist.
