"Down the Line" is a job for Murray and Penelope in "A Cold Alliance" of Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves.
Background
Penelope and Murray discover a box containing phone lines, which the gang can utilize to listen into General Tsao's conversations.
Synopsis
Once Murray gets into position, Penelope contacts and directs him to the strongbox containing hardwire phone lines. If Murray can crack the lid open, she can come by and reroute the wires. With some luck, they will be able to tap into Tsao's communications. Once Murray pops open the lid, he is knocked out by toxic gas that sprayed all over him. This allows him to be captured by Tsao's men, who strap him to an explosive barrel and escort him to the highest peak to be blown up, under Tsao's orders.
Penelope comes rushing to Murray's position, only to find that she is too late. Bentley, however, assures her there is still time to save Murray by using her RC car to beat the lit fuse up the mountain. By pulling off some tough RC driving along the path full of crumbly rocks and black magic dragons, Penelope is able to get it to Murray before the fuse. To stop the fuse for good, she rams her car into the wall beside Murray to drop an icicle, which falls directly onto the fuse, putting it out. Safe from exploding death, Murray is grateful for the heroic actions of the little RC car, even considering it a friend for life and offering it a ride in the van.
Trivia
- In the Prototype, General Tsao refers to Murray as "the foreigner", while in the final version, he is referred to as "the hippo".
