Walkthrough:The Eye of the Storm
"The Eye of the Storm" is the final job in "Tide of Terror" of Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus. It is the very first boss battle introduced in the Sly Cooper series with Raleigh as the boss.
Walkthrough
Raleigh will begin the battle by swallowing a bee and bloating to gigantic size, that way he can squash you. When he first unleashes his attack on you, either you can run around the platform you are on or jump from one platform to the next to avoid damage. Raleigh will bounce a total of five times until he shrinks back down to normal size. He will belch on the fourth bounce; this is an indicator that he is about to shrink back down. Whenever Raleigh is vulnerable to attack, give him a quick whack to take away one-fourth of his health and begin the next cycle. If you miss your chance at attacking him or get squashed while Raleigh bounces around, the cycle will start over.
The second cycle is similar to the first, but all of the platforms will sink into the water, with the exception of whatever platform you are currently on. Utilize the same method as before, and attack Raleigh after his final bounce. The third cycle is similar to the previous two, but each platform will temporarily sink after Raleigh bounces on them. An easy way to complete this cycle is to jump around the arena, and upon landing on the fifth platform, you should wait for Raleigh to land and shrink down, as it will provide another chance of attack.
The fourth and final cycle is different from the others. All of the unoccupied platforms will sink, and Raleigh will land in the center of the platform you are on. Then, after a short delay, he will begin spinning in a circle with his tongue outstretched. You can tackle this part in one of two ways. One way is if you have a Lucky Charm (or you are replaying this level with the Water Safety technique), you can jump into the water and wait out the spin, then attack when you leap back onto the platform. The other way is to simply jump over Raleigh's tongue as he spins. Only a single jump is recommended, as a double jump can cause you to make contact with a second tongue strike. Raleigh will spin a total of six times, after which he will shrink back down, giving you the chance to lay the final hit on him.
