"A Cunning Disguise" is a job in "Tide of Terror" of Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus.

Walkthrough

Upon entry, you will find Clues #1 and #2 in the hall. As you move forward, you can break the piles of books to earn some quick coins, and to earn a massive amount, you can smash the large clock to the left.

Sly sneaking across the first booby-trapped rug

In this area, Raleigh's security is more sophisticated and well hidden, therefore a new method of stealth is introduced here. Upon approaching a booby-trapped rug ahead, you will be introduced to the concept of stealth inside a barrel, one of which sits directly in front of you. By simply jumping inside, Sly will be able to use the barrel for protection, but this comes with some limitations. Sly cannot attack or use any of his abilities while inside the barrel. However, the barrel cannot be destroyed (but can be burned by the blowtorches from a welding walrus). In the center of the rug, you will find clues #3 and #4. Make sure that Sly is inside the barrel, as two dart machines will open up and begin firing darts. These dart guns can be destroyed, which could help if one needs to backtrack for any collectibles.

Up ahead is the first walrus in the library (a welding walrus to be exact), which stands near the elevator. After taking him down, go back and retrieve the barrel, as you will need it later. Once you ride the elevator down to the bottom level, another booby-trapped rug awaits. Near the bookcases is a clue safe containing clues #5 and #6, with an extra life close by. A squid patrols around this section. Bentley will advise Sly to sneak around him while in the barrel, as the guard will not under any circumstances detect Sly as long as he remains still. This will give you the chance to sneak an attack on the guard as soon as his back is turned.

Sly attempting to sneak past a squid

Pressing on, you find another squid that keeps the narrow path between two tables under constant watch. You will need to sneak past him by climbing a ladder onto the bookshelves, where you will find clues #7 – #9. Clue #10 is suspended in the air in front of the ladder. You can collect it just by jumping off the ladder. Once on the other side of the bookcases, take out the guard, then reclaim your barrel to proceed. At this point, you will be approaching the end of the lower level. Ahead are two twin furnaces, one on each side. Their doors will open on occasion, spewing out flames. On these furnaces are clues #11 – #14 (two clues are found on each furnace). Behind one of the furnaces is another clue safe containing clues #15 and #16. Just past the furnaces is another booby-trapped rug right in front of the elevator. Three more clues (#17 – #19) lie behind this rug.

Sly sneaking past upper-level security

While still in your barrel, get onto the elevator and ride it up to the second floor, where a signal repeater awaits. After you smash the siren ahead, try to climb onto the bookshelf to your right to collect clues #20 – #22. You will also find the vault behind the said bookshelf. Continuing along, you will approach a moving squid guard ahead, but the path is blocked by some books. If you are inside the barrel, hop out and smash the books, then sneak an attack on the guard. Use the large chandeliers to cross over to the next path. If you climb up to the highest one (without your barrel), you will find clues #23 – #25. After jumping back down, you can rotate the bookshelf to your left to find another clue safe, which holds clues #26 and #27. The final three clues (#28 – #30) lie near the final siren. Once they are collected, return to the vault and open it. Its combination is 2-4-2. Just past the final rug is the treasure key.
